As my homework, I researched education system, and I found some interesting differences between Russian one and Japanese one. I will write follow.

There are some similarities and differences in the Russian and Japanese education system. Russia had different system compared to the present when it was called the gSoviet Unionh. However, after the Cold War, Russia reached the present system by the disintegration of socialism. Meanwhile, Japan had the system which was similar to that of Germanyfs. However, by the function of General Headquarters of Allied Forces which occupied Japan after the World War 2, Japan reached the present system. In spite of the different history, there are some similarities. In addition to this, there are some differences made by these two countriesf progress. I will introduce the system itself, money, and job of Russian and Japanese education system.

In the Russian education system, five years are needed to graduate from university. In the case of junior college and technical college, two years are needed to graduate. Meanwhile, in the Japanese education system, it takes four years, two years, and two years to graduate from university, junior college, and technical college respectively. These are big differences. Moreover, in the Japanese education system, there are some rated universities, and most Japanese candidates choose a university by referring to these levels. However, the Russian education system does not have these levels. Most Russian candidates choose a university by how easy it is to attend the university and the distance from their towns. A similarity between Russia and Japan is that it is needed to take an examination which includes an interview examination to enter a university.

Both countriesf education systems have private universities and public universities. However, the big difference is that Russia even has free university. This is due to the period of socialism. Russia also has private universities, because of the economical reform was happened a few years ago, when the Russian government established private universities. However, since the tuition fee is so expensive, people who can go to private universities are limited. Meanwhile, Japan has both public and private universities. It costs much money to go to university, whether private or public.

When the Russian students choose a university, they think about their future. For example, if a student would like to be a bank clerk, they choose a faculty of economy. It is rare for Russian students to be a bank clerk by graduating from another faculty other than economy. Moreover, Japanese students have a period for job hunting while being at school. However, Russian students do not have that period. After graduating some students start job hunting and other students start studying abroad.

There are some similarities and differences between the Russian and Japanese education systems. They are due to each countryfs history and custom. There might be merits and demerits, however, taking into account these merits and demerits, these two countries education system is bound to
improve further in the future.
