I studied about movies directed by Hitchcock last year in seminar. Before studying, I thought his movies were just scary because I had only seen the famous scene from "Psycho." But it was not true. His movies had lots of humor and thrill and they were really interesting.
First of all, do you know whom Alfred Hitchcock is? He was born in London, 1899.He made his debut as a director in 1925 by the film called "The Pleasure Garden. "Through his lifetime, he directed 53 movies, (9 in silent, and 14 in color)first in England and he moved to America in 1940. This site shows his best 10 movies chosen by CNN. I have seen most of them except "Strangers on a Train" and "The 39 Steps." You might think they are just old boring movies, but they are not!! Like I said, he has a sense of humor. He appears on most of the
movies and sometimes it's hard to recognize he's there. He started to appear on his own movie to keep the expenses low. Each film has symbols.For example, the symbol for "Psycho" and "Virtigo" was mirror. If you could find the symbol for the movie, it will be more interesting to watch the movies.

"The Birds" (1963)
Like this title, people get attacked by the birds. It was scary because it is possible to occur in real life. This movie uses no music to raise people's fear. Soon after I watched this movie, I couldn't walk near the birds.
"Psycho" (1960)
You can't tell what will happen in the end! Being black and white movie makes this film more uncanny.This film was remade in 1998 by Gus Van Sant.
Even if you are not interested in thriller movie, his films also have an element of romance. Beautiful actresses in his movies are also the point of watching.
